Measuring your Bra Size
When measuring to determine your bra size you should, if possible, wear a comfortable standard underwired bra (not padded or push-up, etc.) You should remain in a standing position, keep your back and shoulders comfortably straight (don't hold your breath or push your chest out). Be relaxed. It can be difficult to measure yourself so you may have to ask a friend to help you, this will enable you to stand in the perfect position for measuring and allow you to keep your arms down by your sides.
1 - Measure below your breasts (band size)
Use a soft tape measure. To obtain your band size measurement, measure very snugly around your rib cage, just underneath your breasts. It should feel tight. Be sure that the tape measure lies straight all the way around. Enter this figure in the pink Below field (1). This measurement can be in inches or centimeters.
2 - Measure around your breasts and back (bust size)
Measure loosely around the fullest part of your bust (usually over the nipples), keeping the tape measure straight all the way around your body. Enter this figure in the blue Bust field (2). This measurement can be in inches or centimeters but must be the same as in step 1.
3 - Measure above your breasts (above bust size)
Measure snugly around your rib cage above your breasts and under your arms kepping the tape measure level all the way around. Enter this figure in the green Above field (3). This measurement can be in inches or centimeters but must be the same as in steps 1 & 2. note: This third measurement is optional. If you leave this field empty, your bra size will be calculated using only the first two measurements, however, in order to obtain the most accurate results you are recomended to use all three measurements.
4 - Calculate your bra size
Click on Calculate and your international bra sizes will be calculated and displayed in the relevant fields.

How to Calculate Your Bra Size

It's estimated that over 80% of women wear the wrong bra size. Life can be uncomfortable enough as it is, your bra shouldn't add to that. Here are some tips to make sure you get the best fit possible.
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
• tape measure
• your best fitting non padded bra
1. Step 1
While you are wearing your comfiest bra, wrap the tape measure around your back so it is even with the band in the back. Bring the tape forward and just above your bust. (So it comes from the back and ends just above your breasts.) This measurement is your band size, no addition needed. If the number is odd, round it up as bra sizes only come in even numbers.
2. Step 2
Now, measure around the fullest part of your bust. Round up to the nearest whole number. (So 32.5 becomes 33.)
3. Step 3
Subtract the band size (determined in step one) from your bust measurement (determined in step two). The resulting number will give you your cup size.
0" difference = AA
1" difference = A
2" difference = B
3" difference = C
4" difference = D
How To Measure Your True Bra Size
Far too many women are wearing the wrong bra size. This can affect your breasts by leaving them unsupported, and can also cause you to have poor posture as well. It’s important to give your boobs the support they deserve, and its easy peasy to measure yourself to get an idea of your correct bra size.
Step 1 – Working Out Your Band Size
Get yourself a dressmakers tape measure (one of those soft ones).
Measure the dimensions of your ribcage directly beneath your bust whilst wearing a bra you think fits you really well. The tape should sit on the lower band of your bra.
Make sure that the tape is level at the front and back (use a mirror to help you) and that it is reasonably snug against your skin.
This measurement is what you use to work out your band size. Add five to this number to get the correct band. i.e. if you have a 27 inch measurement, you need a 32 band size for your bra. If you get an odd number i.e. 33 it is usually OK to go up to the next band size (i.e. 34). However, you might also want to try on the next band size down (i.e. 32) to check which is the best fit for you.
Step 2 – Working Out Your Cup Size
OK, now we have your bra band size we need to work out your cup size!
Measure around your bust at its fullest point. Again, make sure it sits evenly all the way around you and is snug against your body. The difference between this measurement and the band measurement we worked out previously is used to determine cup size.
For example. If you measured 27 inches under your bust, worked out from that you needed a 32 band size, and had a bust measurement of 36 inches, you would require a 32D bra.
This is worked out using the following: -
if the difference is:
less than 1 inch = AA cup
1 inch = A cup
2 inches = B cup
3 inches = C cup
4 inches = D cup
5 inches = DD cup
Find Your Bra Size
The best-fitting bra is the one that fits right. Learn how to calculate your bra size.
JEN KWIATEK, RED STAFFER,

Most girls don't wear bras that fit properly and not only is that uncomfortable, but it isn't healthy for your body. Just going shopping and trying on a bunch of bras isn't a smart move either. Before you hit the mall, you need to take your measurements so that you can find the perfect fit.

Before You Begin
1.) Try to get your Mom or a friend to take the measurements for you. I know this sounds embarrassing, but it's important. The measurements should be more accurate with someone else helping because your posture will be more relaxed and natural.
2.) Stand up straight and breathe normally.
3.) Don't measure over the top of clothing, or if you do, make sure it isn't bulky.
4.) Wear the bra you feel most comfortable in.
5.) Use a cloth tape measure if possible. Remember, older flexible tape measures can sometimes stretch and distort over time.

Determine Your Band Size
1.) Measure around the chest directly under the breast at a constant height with the cloth measuring tape. (If the bra size works out to an ODD number go up one inch to the next EVEN number.)
2.) Now measure around the chest at the height of the fullest part of the breast. The measuring tape should be held horizontal, flat on your back, and your arms should be down. Make a note of that measurement.
3.) To determine the proper Cup Size, find the difference between step 2 and step 1 (step 2 - step 1.) Use the chart below to determine your Cup Size.

Size Chart
Half Inch Difference = AA Cup
One Inch Difference = A Cup
Two Inch Difference = B Cup
Three Inch Difference = C Cup
Four Inch Difference = D Cup
Five Inch Difference = DD or E cup
Six Inch Difference = F Cup
Seven Inch Difference = G Cup

Example
Step 1: Under bust measurement is 34".
Step 2: Fullest part measurement is 37".
Step 3: 37 - 34 = 3" difference. Cup size is C.
Result: Buy a 34C bra.

Once you know your bra size, it is off the mall to shop for the right bra for you. Try several different styles (underwire, padded, demi, push-up, full coverage, etc.). The style of bra you choose depends on your personal comfort and what you want the bra to do for "the girls." Make sure when you are trying on bras that you put your shirt on so that you can see how the bra will look under your clothes. The style of bra may look cute on its own, but under your shirt, it may give you a shape you don't like.

Bra Sizing
At Rigby & Peller we believe that wearing the correct size bra is of utmost importance, which is why we don't believe that you can use a tape measure to calculate your bra size.
Our fitters never use a tape measure to determine your size as a tape measure cannot take into consideration body shape. Instead our fitters are trained to assess each individual customer using their superior product knowledge and fitting expertise which is only gained by unique Rigby & Peller training and experience.
Because the shape and size of a woman's breast may change a number of times in her life, due to fluctuations in weight, sport, pregnancy, contraception, medication and diet we recommend that our customers come in for a fitting every six months.

Although we sell our beautiful lingerie online, we do recommend that all our internet customers treat themselves to the Rigby & Peller bra fitting experience and are correctly fitted by one of our expert fitters.
Rigby & Peller's founder and owner, June Kenton, says, "I am over the moon when women tell me I have changed their life. You wouldn't think that a bra-fitting would do that, but it does."
Calculate bra size - Size Chart
1. Remember that there's no such thing as a definitive bra size.
2. The bra size that fits the best will vary according to the style and fabric.
3. The back of your bra should hug the narrowest part of your back and be at the same level as the front.
4. Underwires should curve snugly around your breasts it should never cut into them.
5. A test you can do is to push the wire of the bra when you have it on. If it feels soft, the wire is sitting on your breast tissue and you should try a larger cup size. If it feels hard, it is sitting on the ribcage and is therefore fitting you correctly.
6. To put on a bra, bend over and lower your breasts into the cups. Then stand up and fit yourself more comfortably inside it.
7. Make sure that you move around in your new bra. Lift your arms above your head and make sure it does not ride up and is still giving you the desired effect.
8. Always fasten a new bra on the loosest hooks. The band should still be very snug. Wear and tear and washing will relax the fit. When this happens use the tighter.
9. If you are unsure of the band fit, you should be able to run your finger along the inside of the band. When trying your bra on, try it on under a tight fitting top. Make sure that it gives you the line and shape that you are looking for.
